Prepare For Different Images
The 24MP APS-C CMOS sensor Canon EOS M50 is a high quality camera that is compact and produces professional grade images needed to shoot travel photography and various photography genres.
Shooting a variety of photography genres during travel photography shoots requires external flashes, mobile strobes or a system that allows the lights to be triggered whenever needed.
Prepare For Extreme Conditions
Due to the dusty condition at the volcanos, it is hard to change lenses. I recommend bringing two camera bodies and mounting two different lenses.
The EF-M11-22mm f/4-5.6 IS STM is one of the sharpest lens I have used. On the other hand, the EF-M55-200mm f/4.5-6.3 IS STM telephoto lens is the smallest APS-C telephoto lens of all makes, light and wallet friendly.
Prepare For Candid Shots
At times, there is no time to think about camera settings and capturing spontaneous moments. This means the camera needs to have a fast and accurate focusing speed. Hence, the dual pixel super-fast focusing speed and silent shooting mode helps to capture spontaneous moments.
Prepare For Long Shoots
Lastly, the Canon EOS M50 is more efficient in saving space with the CR3 RAW file format. The CR3 format saves 30% to 40% of storage space in full resolution compressed file. As for battery life, it has lasted more than 400 images during my travel photography shoots.
The Canon EOS M50 is highly recommended for travellers and serious photographers.
