Wilson Lim had always wanted to be a doctor, but his parents forced him to become a photographer. He specialises in portrait and Instagram travel photography. In this article, he shares a few tips on how to capture emotions through the lens of his Canon EOS M50 camera!

How to Capture Passion With Your Camera

Tip one: Make your subjects feel comfortable in front of the camera. I usually try to make them feel relaxed by having some light conversations with them. Crack a few jokes to make them laugh!

Tip two: Choose easy poses that they’re comfortable with. This would give your photos a more candid feel in addition to making them look less awkward.

Tip three: Once they’re comfortable, they’ll forget about the camera and get lost in their own world. Don’t interrupt them and let them connect with one another. This will help to bring out their natural emotions for a perfect shot!

Tip four: Focus on their faces, especially their eyes, to capture their raw emotions.

Tip five: Use continuous shooting mode for a higher chance to capture perfect moments of the couple in their own element.

Tip six: Most importantly, find people who are actually in love! It will make the emotions projected in your shots look more realistic.
