As we bid farewell to 2013, it is time for us to look back and show our appreciation to those that have made a difference in our lives this year. EOS World proudly presents the professional photographers that have kindly supported the EOS community, and we would like to sincerely thank them for all their efforts and contributions! Each a star in their genre of profession, here are the EOS World Photographers of the Year 2013!

Rock Photography – Eddie Sung

Eddie Sung is Singapore’s most celebrated rock music photographer. The first Asian to be inducted into the world-famous Morrison Hotel Gallery in New York, his rock images are featured on the album covers and artwork of legendary bands like beach boys, Blondie, Slipknot. The walls of Hard Rock Cafés have his prints on display and he has published a trilogy of well-received art/photography books – Eclectic Sanctum, Monochrome Manifestos & Sonic Solitude. Sports Photography – Howie Choo

EOS World’s lens guru, Howie Choo is an avid sports photographer whose images have been published in international renowned magazines such as UK’s “Boards”, USA’s “Windsurfing”, Japan’s “Hi Wind”, UK’s “Kiteworld”, USA’s “Kiteboarding”, “Kite Boarder” from France and “Free” from Germany. In addition, his works have also appeared in international photography magazines like “Digital Photographer” and “Pro Digital Imaging” from USA as well as regional publications like “Action Asia”, and “Asian Photography”. Passionate, creative, with extremely high work ethics and an easy-to-work-with attitude, Howie has been producing beautiful images for clients such as Singapore Grand Prix, FedEx, Alpine Motors / General Motors, Motul Asia Pacific, Changi Airport Group, Singapore Petroleum Company and Singapore Sports Council.


Astrophotography – Justin Ng

Billed as a veteran astrophotographer of Singapore by in Aug 2013, Justin Ng is also listed as one of the Top 6 Landscape photographer in the world by Pixoto in Feb 2013 with works published in BBC, CNN, National Geographic, Yahoo!,, EarthSky and UniverseToday. Besides covering big productions and events like Singapore Karting Championship, Singapore Youth Olympics, Chingay Parade, Vision Magic, and ONE Fighting Championship, Justin also founded the Ministry of Photography and it’s one of the fastest growing photography communities with more than 75,000 members spanning across Singapore, Malaysia, Philippines and Indonesia.


Wedding Photography – Kelvin Koh

Kelvin Koh, award-winning photographer and founder of Lightedpixels, is armed with an acute sense sense of awareness necessary for a wedding photographer, and finding novelty in ordinary situations. He has established an award-winning brand, earning Best of Singapore Wedding Photography – Singapore Tatler for 7 consecutive years (2007 – 2013), as well as one of the Top 10 Wedding Photographers of the Year by Wedding Photojournalist Association (WPJA).


Music Photography – Aloysius Lim

Concert and wedding photographer Aloysius Lim has made his mark in the local music photographer scene with his breathtaking images, as well as being a mentor to budding music photographers. From Baybeats to Laneway Singapore, Aloysius is a well-known name in the music industry – having photographed  so many concerts and live gigs. He has also worked with production companies, photographing bands such as Metallica, Yellowcard, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, new Order and Garbage.


Photography Educator – Allan Lee

Chief Editor of Shutter Journey Singapore, Allan Lee, finds time to conduct frequent photography courses for aspiring shutterbugs and bringing like-minded photographers by organising photography outings. With such a collective attitude, he believes in learning from others  as much as teaching. A certified PA trainer for photography, associated with The Photographic Society of Singapore (PSS) and Canon Professional Service Program (CPS), Allan also holds multiple appointments as an editor and photojournalist to several media websites, trade blogs and magazines.


Action Photography – Mark Teo

Mark Teo is a professional photographer who examines life through his lens in unguarded portraiture and paused moments with an abiding interest in extreme sports and urban subcultures. He was one of the first photographers to work at the Red Bull headquarters in Austria, the leading advocate of action and adventure sports around the world and was also one of the finalist in the prestigious Red Bull Illume competition.  His works span a variety of clients from editorial pieces for the likes of FHM, Timeout and Discovery Channel Magazine, to commercial shoots for F&N, Canon and PUMA.


Motorsports Photography – Cheryl Tay

Cheryl Tay lives a turbo-charged life, having an exceptional passion for all things fast and furious. A motorsports photo-journalist, she has written and shot for all the popular automotive publications in Singapore such as Top Gear Singapore, Torque, Wheels Asia, Rev, as well as the national papers like The Straits Times, The Business Times, The New Paper and My Paper. She has rubbed shoulders with world champions such as Mika Hakkinen, Sebastian Vettel and Jesnson Button. A prominent name in the automative world, she hopes to reach out to a greater like-minded audience to share her pssion with.


Event Photography – David Wirawan

For David Wirawan, Photography is the way he expressese his passion for Art. His keen eye for lighting has made him an excellent event photographer, and he has then started his own photography service, Viilevent Photography. Apart from photographing events and weddings, he also enjoys photographing children; an interest he developed after the birth of his first child. As an EOS World Council member, David is a great contributor to the community, and his willingness to share his knowledge and experiences to other aspiring shutterbugs makes him a great community leader and advocate.


Commercial Photography – Barry Seah

As a full time advertising, studio and commerical photographer, Barry Seah is constantly on the go. He also owns his own commercial studio and print lab, PPIdeas. He was the official photographer for Singapore Manhunt 2013, and his works have been featured in ECO-Mode Magazine for Miss Earth 2012. Despite being in the commercial industry, Barry still contributes back to the photography community – holding workshops and sharing sessions for budding photographers. He has always played an active role in attending EOS World events, guiding members along with his unassuming and approchable nature.


Fashion Photography – Ukay Cheung

As a fashion and advertising photographer, UKay has worked on a wide range of projects with international fashion brands, magazines, and clients from all over Asia and Europe, such as Guerlain Paris, Chanel, Loewe, Burberry, Harpers Bazaar, Prestige, and SingaporeBrides amongst others. His corporate clients include Singapore Parliament House, Ministry of Manpower, NTUC, Accor Hotels, Meritus Hotels and Resorts, and Macau Tourism board. He has won numerous awards, such as the Singapore Master Photographer of the Year in 2008 and several MPA Awards.


Portraiture Photography – Olivia Sari-Goerlach

Olivia Sari-Goerlach is a Singapore based photographer specializing in portraiture, fashion and food photography. Her arresting portraits have been published in a book entitled The home Club Portraiture Project, capturing the spirit of Home Club and its artists. Some of the brands she has worked with include Flesh Imp, FemmeX, Gnoseem, Gnossem, Haato & Co. and Pengwine. Her work and herself has appeared in several publications like August Man, August Woman, Ziggy, Juice, CLEF and Expat Living.
