We are excited to announce the winner of our City of Gardens Contest!
In this contest, we invited our members to submit a photograph that captures Singapore’s beauty as a Garden City! After carefully considering all the entries we received, our esteemed judge, Jensen Chua, concludes the following picture to be our deserving winner of this contest:
Blooming Garden City at Dusk by Vanessa Lorraine Chea Yuen Leng
” Singapore has certainly come a long way in urban planning and grooming. It has evolved from a garden city to a city in a garden over the years. What our tiny urbanised city-state lacks, we make. Having travelled to many countries, I can safely attest we can stand proud to having one the most pleasant horticultural urban environment in the region. But central to any city, is its people and how they seek solace and enjoyment from the environment. What’s a garden city devoid of people? Bearing this in mind, I placed emphasis on composition that includes human beings amidst the city balancing equilibrium with greenery, skies and buildings. I’d like to congratulate Vanessa Lorraine Chea Yuen Leng.” – Jensen Chua, contest judge, EOS World Council Member
Our winner will receive a new Canon PIXMA TS8270 (worth SGD $299)!
“Another entry that I’d like to offer a commendation includes “The City, My Home, My Backyard ” by Cloosnap. This composition reflects the enjoyment that our city residents derive from the environment. Singapore’s landmarks like The Gardens by the Bay, Marina Bay and the city skyline in the background, allude and give an immediate familiarity to our garden city while not overpowering the human elements.” – Jensen Chua, contest judge, EOS World Council Member
